I saw a tip on Pinterest that I knew I wanted to try. I had a bunch of white towels that were in great shape, but over time they were getting a bad smell after just one use. I was just about to buy all new, but tried this tip first.
To my amazement, these towels have a whole new lease on life after washing with a little vinegar and baking soda!
1. Wash towels on HOT with one cup vinegar.
2. Leave towels in washer and wash again on HOT with 1/2 cup baking soda.
Dry as usual. You will see a difference immediately. My husband has even commented on how well it worked!
Pinterest just saved me a little money! Love!
I had the same problem and tried it with the vinegar, didn't know about the baking soda. It did work, thankfully. I will do this on a monthly basis to keep the detergent from clogging my machine. Thanks for the tip:)

I need to try this! I hope it works with a front loader machine. Stinky towels are the worst!
ReplyDeleteThis tip was GREAT, GREAT! I was thinking of tossing some towels and dreaded the fact of buying new ones, and with your tip, I have fresh towels. Thanks Andrea!!!!

ReplyDeleteSo happy to hear this! Love it!!!
Can I do this with a high efficiency front loader?
ReplyDeleteHi Laura, I am honestly not sure about high efficiency front loading washers. I just have an older version, top load, and it worked fine. Sorry I am not much help!
DeleteIs detergent being used in any of the two wash cycles or should this process be done on already washed towels?
