"EAT" Sign

I decided to make an "EAT" sign to hang in a kitchen or eating space out of an old cabinet door.  I really wanted to keep this one, but alas, it is going in the booth!

I started out by cleaning and lightly sanding the original door.  Then I started painting.  I went with a cream I had in my stash.

Then I printed out the letters E, A, T on Word (not sure of the size or font, sorry!) and cut them out.

I then placed the letters on the door and traced them so that I would see an indent in the paint (thanks to That's My Letter for this tip).  I then painted the letters in black acrylic paint.  

I sanded the door, the letters, and the edges really good.  I then added a light coat of dark walnut stain and a light coat of sealer.  Add a sawtooth hanger to the back, and that's it!

I kept the original knob from the cabinet door.  I did paint it black and sanded it down to keep with the look.  A fun little custom sign for your kitchen!
