Kiddo Update

It was a goal of mine in 2011 to put the final touches on Kate's baby book before packing it away in her room, where it will probably stay until she is old enough to want to look at it (or show her boyfriend).  I like to keep up with the baby book until age 2, but Kate's has gotten away from me a bit.  Those poor, poor second children.  I know, I was one of them :).  Anyway, I ordered the last of the pics to be included and then I am DONE!  To my luck, she will probably never even care to see it, but it was important to me to have this keepsake.  I am not a super sappy, keep everything kind of mom.  I like to keep a few items from each milestone.  I love my kids, I just don't love clutter!!

I was sifting through Kate's old pics, and I am still amazed at how small Drew was when Kate was born!  It is hard for me to even remember how fast they both came into our lives!

Drew-15 months, Kate-a few days old
Drew:  This little lad has been giving me a hard time this week!  Not listening and acting wild!  He has had more than his fair share of punishment this week.  He and Kate truly have a love/hate relationship.  It changes every minute. He did, however, crawl up into my lap after dinner tonight and looked me in the eye and told me he was sorry.  That alone lowered my blood pressure, because it was boiling this afternoon!

Now to the good stuff...Drew can recognize his letters (lower and upper case), and can recognize numbers up to 20.  He was a rock star at the dentist this week.  I swear he got a full on adult cleaning and laid there like he was enjoying it!  Soccer starts in a few weeks, and he couldn't be more excited.  In the meantime, we have been playing a lot of baseball and basketball at the house.  The weather here in unreal, so we spend a lot of time outdoors!  He has a new found love for the show "Word World" (would highly recommend) and continues to have his little hands wrapped around lego pieces at any given time of the day.  Lastly, I think D has/is going through a growth spurt!  I can't take him anywhere without someone commenting on how tall he is for his age.  I guess it is to be expected when you have a dad who is 6'4 (he was recently measured and grew an inch). I guess he and Drew are going through a spurt together :).

Kate:  She continues to be her rotten and adorable self.  We were working on learning colors and she picked those up very quickly.  Now, she wants to learn letters like her brother.  She has S, O, and B down.  Only 23 left to go!  Ha!  Thanks to Diego, Kate counts in spanish and runs around the house saying "gracias, amigo", "de nada".  I am also happy to report that she hasn't had a potty accident in a very long time.  She is waking up from naps dry, but still needs a diaper at night.  We always tell her that she is "no bigger than a minute".  She is just as tiny as she can be, but don't let that fool you.  She is about as sassy and rotten as they come!  :)

This is during a "love" moment...

No one knows for sure how a child will change your life, until it actually happens.  I had no idea how much these two would pull me into their souls.  I forever know a different kind of love.
